Patient Trust

Although it's something I often want to do, insistence isn't something I do well. After His death, two of Jesus' followers wanted answers! On the road to Emmaus, they said "we were hoping it was He Who would ..." (Luke 24:21).  Oh, how quickly dejection had set-in ... as it does with us!  Oswald Chambers writes, "Spiritual lust causes me to demand an answer from God, instead of seeking God Himself Who gives the answer." What a cause-to-pause and to consider: am I guilty of insisting on results rather than pursuing The Father's face?  I fear in my hurried spirit, I focus more on the pursuit of answers instead of the God of answers. Oh, for Grace to trade-in an impatient insistence for a patient trust, fully resting in Christ Who intercedes [for us] at The Father's right hand. What a great trade!
