The Jesus Family

Of the many blessings in my life, my family tops the list! I know, of course, family has the potential to be a source of stress [which is the case for many people]; for me, however, family is a gracious blessing. David writes these words in Psalm 16, "As for the saints who are on the earth, they are the majestic ones; all my delight is in them." (V.3, NASB). There's a non-biological family to which every Child of God (Believer) belongs - it is the Church, the Body of Christ. Many may presume since they do belong to nor regularly attend a local church, they don't belong to such a family. John 1:12-13 (ESV) says otherwise: "But to all who did receive Him [Jesus], who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." If you belong to Jesus, you belong to the non-biological but spiritual family of Christ! One of the joys of being part of a God's family is spending time together; David says all his delight is in them. David says later in Psalm 122, "let us go to the house of the LORD" because he knows that place of worship is also where [God's] Family gathers! We are distinctly and uniquely joined by Jesus Himself, and that far outweighs the joys of biology! Without reservation, I agree with David and know the immeasurable joy of time with my ...
