Speak Sweetly

MORNING WITH BEVERLY: Thursday 08-03-2017

Speak Sweetly

There is great danger in the babble-of-the-rabble!  The rabble was the mixed multitude who incited the Israelites to weep about their food options in the wilderness.  The rabble - the disorderly crowd - who left Egypt with the Hebrews were a terribly unhappy bunch.  Today is no different: complainers and complaints are plentious! Unfortunately, some of it we aren't able to tune out - please, where is the "off" button?  Proverbs 14:7 warns us, "Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge."  As we make conscious choices to free our ears from modern-day babble (and rabble), we must take care not to practice it ourselves. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." (Proverbs 16:24).  Just imagine how different your world will be as only pleasant words pour forth!  Speak sweetly - you just might gather a crowd!
