Firm Foundation

Wouldn't you agree foundations are important? Ask any builder, then be prepared for a lecture on just how important they are!  The powerful impact of a CAT4 hurricane certainly makes everyone consider the stability of man-made structures, and seek safety elsewhere. God says, "For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is [already] laid, which is Jesus Christ. But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will be clearly shown [for what it is]; for the day [of judgment] will disclose it, because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality and character and worth of each person's work." (1 Corinthians 3:11-13). Oh, at the faulty foundations on which many have settled their lives. Like whimsical sand castles on the shore, lives built on fanciful notions and feel-good philosophies are destined to unpleasant ruin. This is not so for those who have a "foundations, whose designer and builder is God" (Hebrews 11:10). What about your foundation? Is it built on The One impervious to the storm surges of life?
