Power with Purpose

A few days ago I was sitting on the porch as the morning sun made its way up into the Florida sky. Even with coffee in-hand, the 20 mph wind was just too much! Acts 2 came to mind: "When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting." (Acts 2:1-2). Much like that beach wind, there was power in the "the wind" of Acts 2: "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit." (V.2).  Have we forgotten the Power of the Holy Spirit within us? Surely we must remember we have power and power with purpose: ""You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses." (Acts 1:8).  The Power given to Believers - then and now - empowers and enables; He also comforts and encourages in times of trouble and suffering. This is a Truth of which we must always be mindful: Jesus did not leave us alone! It's not just any spirit - He is the third Person of the Godhead: the Holy Spirit and He is Power with Purpose  to all who believe!
