Treasure Him

Who doesn't love a good treasure hunt! Whether it's hunting for the prize egg or finding the best bargain, the hunt is often half the fun. A Puritan prayer goes like this: "If I should suffer need, and go unclothed, and be in poverty, make my heart prize Thy love." The Valley of Vision. On earth, the prize or treasure is indeed in the "eye of the beholder." The troubles many Believers suffer is due to treasuring wrong treasures!  Jesus said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there is your heart also." (Matthew 6:19-21). The pursuit and value of wrong treasures always leads to the suffering of discontent. In truth, all that glitters really isn't gold! What is gold, however, is Christ Himself - He never disappoints or disillusions. He is our Greatest Treasure! Treasure Him.
