Run To Him

In the child's game of "chase," the object is to run from the one chasing. Running to something, even as adults, isn't quite as common, however. India Arie sings, "Everyone of us is worthy - Baby girl, worthy woman - Everyone of us is worthy." The spiritual truth, however, is quite the contrary! My best state [of being] is not in what I can-may convince myself of by repeating it over and over; rather, when I understand and acknowledge I am nothing (a failure) on my own ... well, then we're getting somewhere. Ephesians 3:12 says, "In Him [Christ] and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence." That is the moment the soul sings with deep and complete assurance as well as perfect worthiness! Why is this so? Because our Savior and Friend, Jesus, took the condemnation, the wrath and the penalty for our sin. The result is both free and worthiness for all who Believe. Him - and nothing else - is worth running to. Make it a practice and habit ... Run to Him!
