Be Prepared
Parents of two Boy Scouts, we remember that Scout motto, "Be Prepared." We certainly haven't forgotten the many times those little fellas weren't ... prepared! The time for preparation for Satan's attack isn't right in the middle of it. The psalmist said, "If Your law had not been my delight, then i would have perished in my time of trouble." (Psalm 119:92). Note that he's referring to something he had already done; that is, he was prepared for trouble according to God's Word. It's so easy [and natural] to be lackadaisical in pleasant-peaceful times of life. When trouble comes, however, we are quickly reminded we are not ... prepared! "I will never forget Your precepts for by them You have revived me and given me life." (V.93). Whatever your current circumstances, "look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise" (Ephesians 5:15). There's never a time for laziness - be wise and diligent, stay in The Word ... be prepared.
