Never Out-Of-Sorts
Do you ever have days when you just seem to be out-of-sorts? I describe those times as ... diskabobbled and caddywonkus (spell-check DID NOT like those words). I’m not sure Mary would have described her days this way but reading her words in Luke makes me conclude she truly believed God to be Sovereign – in control of all things including her current situation. “He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; He has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate.” (Luke 1:51-52). In this world-gone-mad, it’s comforting and encouraging to trust in God Who will have the final word! We can’t always see it – that is, God orchestrating events around us – but God will see His purpose accomplished including as He fulfills all His promises! So on those out-of-sorts kinda days, remember this: nothing is ever out-of-sorts with All-Powerful All-Knowing God. Take joy in remembering how He intervened in the lives of two [otherwise] unknowns (Joseph and Mary) to bring The Savior to mankind. “Wait for the LORD and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.” (Psalm 37:34). What an especially great time of year to find joy and delight in God Who is ... never out-of-sorts.
