Sure Foundation

Years ago when Mister Bill and I moved to our current home - the family farmhouse - we made some improvements: painted the cabinets, replaced flooring, remodeled the bathrooms, all facial upgrades. Not long after we were in, we realized the years had degraded the foundation - that part unseen. A secure foundation, whether physical or spiritual, is of great importance. David wrote in Psalm 11, "If the foundations are destroyed, what shall the righteous do?" (V.3). Yes, what would be possibly do? Praise be to God "the LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven ... The LORD is righteous ... He loves righteousness ... the upright will behold His face" (V.4, V.7). For the righteous - children of God who love and obey Him - there is no fear of instability. God has provided a steadfast and sure cornerstone, a true and unshakable foundation - Jesus Christ. Oh, the rest and peace that we have in Jesus, our ... sure foundation.
