Soul-Satisfying

Today I find myself ... sickly. Perhaps it's simply the fall crud but it has taken hold of me quite strongly. Mister Bill  has been tending me well but it seems what I need most is lots of water and rest. Ultimately, the soul of man has one need - its Creator. The psalmist writes, "If the LORD had not been my help, I would soon have dwelt in [the land of] silence. If I say, 'My foot has slipped,' Your compassion and lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comforts delight me." (Psalm 94:17-19 AMP). Oh the things we pursue with intensity only to find them lacking, insufficient and unable to meet the need of the heart and soul. There is nothing more satisfying than opening God's precious words about Himself - that is, The Bible. He has so much to say, to give, to fill, to provide for the tired weary struggling soul. He wants to speak His fullness into your soul. He alone is ... soul-satisfying.
