Ancient of Days

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for Me One Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.” Micah 5:2

 

For nine months after conception twins share things most children never do yet they are amazingly unique.  Many people don’t guess my twin boys are  brothers much less twin brothers!  The uniqueness of Jesus’ birth is that it wasn’t His beginning:  He existed before that Bethlehem night.  “The Personhood of the character, the personality of Jesus of Nazareth existed before the man Jesus of Nazareth was born.” (John Piper, Good News of Great Joy).  We [appropriately and accurately] use the word “incarnation” to describe Jesus becoming flesh, coming to earth as a baby.  We celebrate the Ancient of Days as Messiah – Redeemer – Savior of mankind.  O, come let us adore Him!
