The Display
Mr. Bill and I attended an art show last week and were quite … enlightened. The display of art was fascinating but chatting with the artist was the best part! Hebrews 3:3 says, “For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses – as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.” Whatever we’re building in this life – investing our time, money, effort – must be with eternity in-mind. If it is not, we’re just plowing water. “Consider Jesus … Who was faithful to Him Who appointed Him” (3:1-2) – this is the guiding principle for every Christian life. Oh, yes! the display [of Christ in our lives] is very important but the display must always reflect the glory of the Master: “And we are His house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our Hope.” (3:6). The art exhibit revealed the imagination of the artist; likewise, our lives should rightly reflect our relationship to God. Let us not consider exclusively the display but consider who Jesus is to us. A right relationship with Him creates an incredible display!
