Incline Toward Christ

Inclines can be treacherous! I recall a few rides that made serious ascents, and the mechanical sounds certainly sounded like work! Believers will never know the joy of a relationship with Jesus unless we incline toward Him. We all know the ease and thrill of a descent - it's just so much easier! Like Adam and Eve, however, left to our own inclinations, we’re soon in great and serious decline!  Truth is, unless we decisively and deliberately incline toward Christ, we will continue to decline. God’s Word says, “The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. My son, be attentive to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are Life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:19-22). While decline is easy, the spiritual incline demands commitment and faithfulness to Godly Truth. To grow toward Christ in heart and mind is 365x24x7; the reward is every need of body, spirit, and soul met and in great supply! The only way to avoid a decline is ... incline toward Christ!
