Welcome Words

The Wisdom of God: "He who pursues evil will bring about his own death" (Proverbs 11:19b). Immediately Deputy Barney Fife comes to mind, who was notorious for locking himself in the town's jail cell. What a picture of our own foolish decisions and choices that ultimately trap us in the restraints of sin. Unfortunately for us, the key [to the jail cell] isn't always so conveniently hanging within an easy arm's reach. The first part of that verse says, "He who is steadfast in righteousness will attain to life." Freedom from Satan and sin is best kept than recovered. The Word of God protects us from the path that leads to destruction, and It preserves us as we embrace God's commands. Protection and preservation - those are two ... welcome words!
