Our Advocate

We read a lot about advocacy groups these days. How well I remember being on the basketball court knowing Dad and Mom, sisters and friends were cheering the team and especially ... for me. Those are great memories but memories they are! Read this about Jesus Christ, our eternal Advocate and High Priest: "The former priests ... existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:22-25, NASB). Those latter words should greatly encourage us - He is able to save forever and lives to intercede for us. Jesus is our Almighty and Timeless Advocate - unlimited, unrestricted by time or power! He continue forever and He is altogether able: when we lack words to speak, He is our voice; when sadness overcomes us, He is our gladness; when weakness prevails in us, He is our strength; when discouragement overwhelms us, He is our encouragement ... on and on it goes! Keep this truth ever before you ... Jesus is our Advocate!
