Enjoy the Gift!

“If while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” —Romans 5:10–11

 

Just me, I suppose, but I like to give gifts that complete one another, i.e. body wash with body cream.  God’s gift to us – Jesus Christ – is complete.  “We have Christ, the image of God, and we have God in the face of Christ.” (John Piper, Good News of Great Joy).  The world deems we need more: “Come one – Come all!  Select from the luscious buffet of ideologies, philosophies, and, theologies.” it taunts.  The Gift of God through Jesus is both redemption for sin and delightful life.  In Christ we know our Treasure and full Pleasure for living.  Enjoy the Gift!
