See God

Eye diseases can hinder many otherwise simple tasks such as reading product labels when shopping.  How blessed we are when our eyes are free and clear of impediments – pure – to function as they should.  God Most Pure is the standard for His Children: “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil …” (Habakkuk 1:13).  Such purity as God commands is heart-purity.  Christians who grasp this principle will complete a divine prerequisite given by Jesus:  “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8).  Thomas Watson writes “to such as are adorned with this jewel, He promises a glorious and beatifical vision of Himself – they shall see God.”  Is it any wonder we too often miss God!  Happy are we when heart-purity is the highest goal – we will see God.
