Nail It Down
Mr. Bill doesn’t allow me to use a hammer. In fact, all his hammers are locked up! In a world of wondering about this and that, the words of God put an end to the wondering. “The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one Shepherd.” (Ecclesiastes 12:11). A goad is something used to guide one along the proper path. We all know in the world of some-assembly-required the strategic placement of a nail means a lot. So it is with the wisdom of God applied to a life well-lived. Because “… wisdom giveth life to them that have it.” (Ecclesiastes 7:12b), the wise seek it – not from books or magazines or worldly experts – but from “one Shepherd” Who leads by a better way. Seems I don’t need a hammer after all to nail it down – give heed to Wisdom.
