No Small Thing

Little things can be big things. Interestingly, when we do the little things, rarely do we think about how really big they can be. We know from scripture David was a "man after God's own heart" (1 Samuel 13:14).  And, although very human in ways all of us understand, David remains a spiritual giant. Six times the Bible says God acted for "the sake of My servant David" - 1 Kings 11:32, 1 Kings 15:4, 2 Kings 19:34, 2 Kings 20:6, Psalm 132:10, Isaiah 37:35.  Why?  Because David was obedient to God - not perfect but one who delighted in pleasing the LORD. Clearly, that mattered greatly to God! God remembered David's heart for God and honored him for that otherwise little thing. Truth is, obedience to God is no small thing.
