Walk In It

As we settle in our new home, there's lots of things to be done: curtains and blinds and pictures to be hung, shelving to be installed, closets to be organized ... oh, that's just my to-do list. Mister Bill, however, has a totally different list of "priorities." In 1994 Microsoft launched a global advertising campaign with the slogan, "Where do you want to go today?" That's a question ever posed to Believers. The answers are lived-out in choices too numerous to list, and so many journey down roads filled with worldly travelers. "Thus says The LORD, 'Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'we will not walk in it.'" (Jeremiah 6:16). How sad to hear The Lord's voice and ignore it, refuse it as we go along our own way. "[Lord] You will make known to me the way of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever." (Psalm 16:11). Consider the way of life you have chosen: is it the Way of Life, the way of His Presence where there is fullness of joy. It may not be the most popular or well-traveled but the Ancient Way is best. Walk in it.
