Heart Diligence

Both of us now retired, one thing that helps Mister Bill and I know what's happening from day-to-day is my online calendar. It's not uncommon to rise each morning with thoughts of the day's doings. How many of us consider this priority: "Keep the heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." (Proverbs 4:23). I suspect heart-diligence doesn't top many lists! Since the heart cannot be disengaged from what we speak and how we behave, Believers should take care and caution. "Behold, [Lord], You delight in Truth in the inward being, and You teach me wisdom in the secret heart." (Psalm 51:6). How foolishly we listen to worldly noise pushing us to give attention to the outward man while God is most concerned with the inner. Let us commit ourselves to what matters most to The Father ... heart-diligence.
