Seek and Worship

Anyone ever told you that you can't "see the forest for the trees?" If so, let's be clear: that's not a compliment! The implication is that you cannot understand nor appreciate the larger picture because you're too focused on the details of the moment. I'm evermore amazed at how God misses neither the details nor the bigger picture! "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, 'Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.'" (Luke 2:1-2, AMP). Almighty God, with big picture in mind, promoted Daniel (of 605-536 BC) to rule over the entire province of Babylonia including all the wise men (Daniel 2:48) who [undoubtedly] learned of Jehovah God and the coming of a child king. Surely, they studied the Scriptures of old: "I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel" (Numbers 24:17, ESV). One significant detail - Daniel and wise men of the east (Babylon) - as God prepared the way for the world to see the bigger picture: God's salvation come to earth for all mankind. It's been rightly said, "wise men still seek Him." Indeed, we are wise to seek Him then do exactly as the magi did: worship Him!
