Do What Is Due

Do's and dues are inescapable.  Window envelopes remind us of due dates, labor pains remind expectant mothers what they must do, and early-morning alarms alert alert us where we are due by a certain time.  If you think about it, life is full of do's and dues.

What is God due?  Psalm 29:2 says He is due "glory due unto His Name."  What does God get from us?  Hmmm, let me think – whining, apathy, slothfulness, neglect.  Perhaps we don’t fully understand the Nature of God that leaves us unable to render Him what is rightly due. Charles Spurgeon writes, “God is glorious in His Character, for there is such a store of everything that is holy, and good, and lovely in God, that He must be glorious." Truth is, God is due all glory – all the time. It's ours to do what is due Him!  Let us joyfully and faithfully … DO what is DUE!
