Listen to Your Soul
We’ve heard it said we are what we eat; the same is true of we are what we want. What we want inside will be apparent by the things we pursue and hold dear. Jesus said, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37). This truth reveals much about us: if we don’t love Him with all we are, we love something else more. Our culture encourages idolatry – anything we love more than God. Funny thing about idols, they are always just out of reach, enticing us to keep reaching. How foolish how we’re always pressing toward what cannot satisfy. “’The Lord is my Portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.” (Lamentations 3:24). Ask God today to settle quiet your spirit with His Portion. Your soul knows True Sufficiency – listen to your soul!
