Prayer Changes

A sweet childhood memory is how Mom frequently rearranged the living room furniture, and Dad would always say, “what’s going on in here!”  A subtle and strategic rearrangement of old things can be good, but it is simply a “subtle and strategic rearrangement of old things.” We’ve all heard, “Prayer changes things.”  A more accurate statement is: prayer changes me.  How do we develop an earthly relationship? We invest time in conversation and in fellowship with the person. In the same way, it is time spent in prayer with The Father when He begins to reveal who He is thus deepening the relationship. You see, prayer doesn’t change things – prayer changes people. Oswald Chambers writes, “Prayer changes me and then I change things.” Let’s not settle for simple rearrangement of the way things are; rather, let’s go for a real and lasting change in who we are. Pray expecting change!
