Integrity Is A Big Deal
Do you have "just in case" items in your car, desk, pocketbook? If so, good for you! Recently Mister Bill found in the glove compartment of my car straws, plastic spoons, a boatload of napkins and ... yes, socks ... just in case. God said, "A false balance is an abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is His delight." (Proverbs 11:1). If you don't think integrity is such a big deal, consider who you listen to for financial advice, who you trust with your car insurance, the app you use for weather reports or news. Truth is: honesty is honesty, and it follows us everywhere and in everything. J. Vernon McGee says we "partnership" with God in our "dealings with others" but only when we are honest. Believers do not turn-on or apply honesty only when it benefits us. "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold." (Proverbs 22:1). Bill Fuller, my grandfather, was known far-wide as a man of his word - not even a handshake was necessary; this was his reputation because he applied integrity to all he did - not "just in case" situations of life. What's the big deal about integrity? It's a big deal to God!
