Living the Life

"Living the life" means different things to different people. Retirement life for Mister Bill and I has taken a little adjustment - new routines and renewed interests ... challenging, but nice. God's plan of salvation for man is cause for deep gratitude and great celebration; the promise of an eternal home most commonly noted among Believers. There is, however, a present cause of Jesus' death and resurrection for His Followers: "[We] always carry around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body." (2 Corinthians 4:10). Those words "so that" are paramount for the here-and-now in the Believer's life. We aren't just born-again so that we will go to heaven one day; we are born-again so that in our present-day lives there is visible evidence of Christ is us! Are you living the life [of Christ] so that He is made real in you for the benefit of His glory and for others? If so, you really are ... living the life!
