Wise In The Lord

No one likes to be manipulated - managed by the shrewdness of those who seek only to benefit themselves. Because I am [basically] trusting and [often] naive, I admit I'm easy prey. Scripture warns us there will be those who will cause division in the Body of Christ. Jude describes them like this: "hidden reefs ... clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea ... wandering stars." (Jude 12,13). Perhaps Believers just don't know how very dangerous the times are, and how much care and diligence are required to intently listen to The Lord and not to man. Jude encourages us with these words: "But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in The Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life." (V.20,21). These are tough and treacherous days; much care should be taken to not depend on our own understanding but to be fully devoted to persevere in Godly wisdom and guidance. Let us be not wise in our own eyes but in the Lord!
