Kindness Without Measure

This ole world is lacking many things; perhaps one of the most missing is kindness. J. Vernon McGee explains the difference between kindness and loving-kindness: "If you go in and ask your mama for a piece of bread with some butter on it, and she gives it to you, that's kindness. But if she puts a little jam on it without your asking her, that is loving-kindness." To those who love and seek to honor Him, God says, "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart." (Proverbs 3:3). The "mercy" God speaks of immeasurable kindness ... yes, loving-kindness! Such kindness comes from hearts that recognize the abundant mercy (kindness) that has been shown them by their Merciful God. We, therefore, extend kindness without measure - dish-it-out in heapin' helpings! Such immeasurable mercy hangs around our necks and is written on our hearts reflecting Jesus Christ. Let us not be stingy [with kindness] but faithfully practice ... kindness without measure!
